Utilising a waste by-product of the New Zealand forest industry, pellet boilers are destined to be a major energy producer in New Zealand’s future.

Currently pelletized wood waste fuels the main pellet boiler which heats three insulated cylinders that feed the potable (drinking) hot water for kitchen and bathroom and provides space heating within each silo.

The boiler is made in Germany, leaders in high tech/low tech centralised boiler systems.

Even the Biolytix waste water system is planet friendly. ‘The BioPod’ harnesses the energy in the waste (including the sewage, toilet paper and food waste) to nourish the worms that break down the waste.

With a minimum life of 50,000 hours, LEDs last five times longer than other forms of lighting.

They are the lighting of tomorrow, in the silos of today. When compared with incandescent lamps (average life of 2,000 hours) the disparity is even more remarkable.

All the LED’s on the boardwalks and external lighting of the silos is equivalent to a few 40W light bulbs.
