SiloStay - an accommodation complex like no other

SiloStay
- an accommodation complex like no other

From an idea conceived in absurdity, to inspired moments by the F3 Design Team, clever design is evident in all aspects of the SiloStay story.

In your Silo we aim to provide a welcoming and embracing experience that nourishes mind, body and spirit. This approach to accommodation reflects the importance of time out, surrounded by a physical environment that suggest a slow down; a glimpse into the extraordinary in an ordinary little country town. The slow down is an essential part of lifes balance that should not preclude difference and extremes, but puts them in calm context.

Listen to the stars, look at the wind rustle the air, and then be brave.  Welcome the gift of time and reflect from your Silococoon.

The ground floor is equipped with a custom fitted kitchenette for all cooking needs, a relaxed seating area, toilet and external balcony. The stylish and luxurious first floor bedroom, bathroom & balcony are accessed via a sculptural steel staircase.

Built for the discerning traveller - awarded 4+ stars by Qualmark – each unit has a wall mounted flat screen TV; satellite channels; bed head mounted stereo/cd/iPod/MP3; and broadband internet.

SiloStay has been designed and built using innovative eco-friendly systems. Wool is the insulation of choice – under floor, in the walls and in the ceiling. Wood pellets, a waste by-product of timber production is used to heat the units in winter. Passive cooling in summer means simply open the hatch at the top of silo. Even the waste water system is planet friendly – ‘Biolytix’. The BioPod harnesses the energy in the waste (including the sewage, toilet paper and food waste) to nourish the worms that break down the waste. Nothing is wasted. All the atmospheric lighting, both within individual silos and the external boardwalks are LED.

Located in the heart of Little River, on State Highway 75, adjacent to the Christchurch – Little River Rail Trail. Just 50 minutes from Christchurch city and the International Airport, and en-route to picturesque Akaroa. Little River – gateway to the world renowned and beautiful Banks Peninsula.

Clientele will appreciate the ability to house their bike or kayak on the specially designed hanging rack. Cyclists will enjoy the prime location, adjacent to the Christchurch to Little River Rail Trail.

Stay somewhere unique – enjoy the eco-friendly SiloStay experience, and explore the beauty of the rugged landscape of the Banks Peninsula region.
